Blackhawk Backpack Program

Backpack Program

We are pleased to offer the
Blackhawk  Backpack Program for our Elementary School! This is a partnership between our school and Bread of Life Outreach, Assembly of God Church. The program helps families by providing children with a food pack of non-perishable items for weekends. This program is entirely free of charge. Our hope is to reach families who are food insecure.

Food items may include pop-top canned meals, macaroni and cheese, peanut butter, cereal, fruit juice, shelf-stable milk, fruit, and granola bars. Bread of Life Outreach and the
Blackhawk Backpack Program strive to provide healthy, safe, and kid-friendly food to families in need. Each food item is labeled and sealed by the manufacturer. The food will be placed into a reusable shopping bag that your student can take home at the end of the day every other Friday. If participating students are bus riders, they will be reminded to not open the contents of the bags on the bus ride home from school.

Also thanks to Bread of Life Outreach and Assembly of God Church in Newport, we are now offering "The Snackhawk Program." In the Middle and High School, our school nurses and counselors have snacks in their offices for students in need.
